Energy Reforms: ECN DG Hails Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Calls for Public Support

The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his far-reaching energy reforms, describing them as a bold step toward repositioning Nigeria’s energy sector and driving national development.

In a New Year message to Nigerians, Dr. Abdullahi said the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration is laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth by prioritizing reliable and renewable energy access for citizens and businesses.

According to him, the President’s policies are already reshaping Nigeria’s energy landscape and restoring confidence among local and international investors, while rekindling hope for a more prosperous and energy-secure nation.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon vision through the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the energy sector.

“His determination to provide sustainable and renewable energy solutions has brought renewed life to the Energy Commission of Nigeria, which now plays a central role in the nation’s energy transition”, Abdullahi said.

He noted that the President’s unwavering commitment to reform has resulted in innovative strategies aimed at strengthening energy infrastructure, expanding clean energy adoption, and supporting economic growth across key sectors of the economy.

Dr. Abdullahi explained that, as Chairman of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, President Tinubu continues to champion the Energy Transition Plan, which remains a critical component of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the plan reflects the administration’s resolve to build a resilient energy sector that meets present needs while safeguarding the future.
He added that the focus on clean and sustainable energy positions Nigeria to compete favorably on the global stage, attract investment, and meet environmental responsibilities without compromising economic progress.

“These reforms underscore Nigeria’s readiness to assume leadership in sustainable energy development while creating jobs, improving livelihoods, and protecting the environment”, he stated.

The ECN Director-General urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s policies, stressing that collective commitment and public cooperation are essential to fully actualize the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and secure long-term benefits for the country.
