For two days this December, Abuja will come alive with music, dance, culture, and celebration as Nigeria hosts the Cultural Hangout Festival 2025, an event dedicated to honoring migrants and their invaluable contributions to society.
Timed to coincide with International Migrants Day on December 18, the festival promises to be an immersive experience highlighting unity, diversity, and shared humanity.
The theme for this year’s festival, “Honouring The Contributions of Migrants and Respecting Their Rights”, reflects Nigeria’s commitment to inclusion and cross-cultural collaboration.
The event aims to showcase that migrants are not outsiders—they are neighbors, leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and vital contributors to the nation’s social and economic life.
A Festival Unlike Any Other
What sets the Cultural Hangout Festival apart is its interactive, experiential design. Participating countries will host Country Community Spaces, bamboo-roofed hubs that allow attendees to explore culture, trade, and dialogue.

Side Event: Regular Pathways to Migration
As part of the festival, a side event on Regular Pathways to Migration will focus on the UK
Global Talent/Innovator Founder Visa Route. Attendees will learn about eligibility requirements, endorsement bodies, building a strong portfolio, high-demand sectors, common mistakes to avoid, and practical steps for becoming “Global Talent-Ready.”
This session is targeted at creative professionals (music, fashion, film, arts, and culture), tech innovators, researchers and academics, entrepreneurs, migrant communities, and youth with global aspirations — offering them a rare opportunity to access guidance and insights directly applicable to their professional growth.
