The Nigerian Senate has appealed to the country’s president, Bola Tinubu to approve the sum of two hundred million naira, in compensation to the family of a victim who was shot at one of his eyes, while his other brother was killed by an officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In a report brought by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, Sen. Imasuen Neda Bernards, representing Edo South, the Senate President also asked the NDLEA to be accounted for the cost implications of treatment on the victim, Eromosele Omhonria, a younger brother to the two year old deceased, Onosereba Omhonria.
The incident happened on the 13th of July,2023.
The family of Mr.Fidelis Omhonria, through Mr. Matthew Edaghese Esq had earlier brought a petition to the Senate Committee on Ethics,Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, against the NDLEA for the murder of the two year old and the younger brother shot in the eye.
