Abuja – February 18, 2026 – Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated the Nigerian Center on its recognition and accreditation by the United States Department of Justice under the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) Recognition and Accreditation Programme.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, this recognition reflects the Nigerian Center’s dedication, credibility, and steadfast commitment to supporting immigrant communities in the United States. The accreditation enables the Center to expand its immigration legal services, providing guidance and representation to immigrants, particularly those from low-income and underserved backgrounds.
In a Press Release by the Commission, Dabiri-Erewa described this achievement as a proud moment for Nigerian-led diaspora organizations. She highlighted that it underscores the positive contributions Nigerians continue to make in their host communities and reinforces the growing impact of diaspora institutions built on service and professionalism.
She further emphasized that access to trusted and culturally responsive legal support remains critical for immigrants navigating complex immigration processes. The Nigerian Center’s accreditation by the U.S. Department of Justice strengthens its capacity to serve as a reliable resource for Nigerians and other African immigrants.
The NiDCOM Chairman/CEO also commended the Head of the Nigerian Center, Mr. Gbenga Ogunjimi, and his entire team for their dedication and hard work, urging them to maintain the high standards that earned this recognition and to continue making meaningful contributions within the diaspora community.
