The Nigerian government has appointed new medical directors, in line with its objective to improve access to quality healthcare delivery.
According to a statement on Sunday, issued by the Health Ministry’s Director of Press, Alaba Balogun, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Iziaq Salako obliged the new directors to carry out their duties with the highest level of dedication, saying that is the minimum expectation President Bola Tinubu’s led government.
“These are new hospitals. Obviously, you will face some teething problems: and Kafanchan is very very special to Mr. President because of his keen interest in that part of Kaduna State, the statement quoting the Minister, said.
“You know he has also established a Federal University in that Senatorial district in view of his special interest.I urge you to charge forward with unwavering dedication and, determination towards projecting the agenda of Mr. President in the health sector”, it added.
The Minister urged the new directors to ensure a cordial relationship with the host community, as owners of the facilities.
Dr. Haruna Abubakar Shehu, Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Kafanchan, commended President Tinubu for the appointment and pledged to work in line with the agenda of the President to see that the health sector’s objective is achieved. The other new director is Dr. Ali Mohammed Ramat Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital Azare, Hawul, Borno State.
