President of South American nation, Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has described the visit of Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, as a “restart of Nigeria-Brazil relationship”.
In a statement issued by Nigeria’s health ministry on Tuesday, both presidents showed an uncommon commitment to a strengthened South-South cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
“During the high level bilateral interaction, of ministers and senior government officials, it was an opportunity to chart a way forward in the health cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil”, the statement said in quote.
Nigeria proposed the development of a Five-Year Joint Action Plan to take the MOU signed in July between Nigeria’s Ministry of Health, and that of Brazil forward.
The West African nation also proposed a strategic government to government procurement deal for the health sectors of the two countries.
Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako is part of Nigeria’s delegation to Brazil.
